Accessibility statement
Compliance status
We want everyone to be able to use soelle-homes.at well – with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or on a small screen. This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, and the harmonised standard EN 301 549.
We built the website to these criteria and check every change automatically with the axe testing tool at phone, tablet and desktop widths (375, 768 and 1440 pixels), and we test keyboard operation. A full manual test with a screen reader is still pending. Until it is done and the issues listed below are fixed, we rate the status as “partially compliant”.
What we do
- A “Skip to content” link at the start of every page
- Full keyboard operation with a clearly visible focus, also in the menu, the image viewer, galleries and carousels
- Colour contrast of at least 4.5 : 1 for text
- Buttons and links with touch targets of at least 44 × 44 pixels
- Text alternatives for images and a logical structure with headings
- The language of every page is marked (German or English)
- Rotating images can be paused and stand still if you have set “reduce motion” in your system
- Zoom and narrow screens without loss of content and without horizontal scrolling (checked from 375 pixels width)
- No captcha puzzles: the protection of the newsletter form runs by itself in the background
- Videos never start by themselves; you start YouTube videos with a button, also by keyboard
- Notice windows (pop-ups) appear only shortly after the page has loaded, are marked up as a dialog with a title, keep the focus inside, close with the Escape key or “Close” and then return the focus; without animation if you have chosen reduced motion
Known limitations
- English pages: some sections of English pages are not translated yet and appear in German, without their language being marked for screen readers (WCAG 3.1.2). We are translating them.
- Videos: uploaded videos have no captions yet (WCAG 1.2.2); we will caption videos with speech as soon as our content management system supports it. For YouTube videos, the captions YouTube offers apply.
- Text alternatives: some images taken over from the previous website do not have a meaningful text alternative yet. We are adding them.
- Tables: some tables taken over do not have marked-up header rows yet.
- Third-party services: The booking site (soellehomesnassfeld.bookpage.io), the YouTube player, the 360° tour (Kuula) and linked sites are separate applications or third-party services not covered by this statement; we have no influence on their accessibility on this website.
We fix issues as we find them and record the result here.
